Community Guidelines
These Guidelines set the behavioural standard for the community and support content moderation and enforcement. They complement the Terms of Service, which are the binding legal rules.
JainSansar is a space for the Jain community — families, Sanghs, and members — to connect with respect and dignity (Ahimsa in word and deed). These Guidelines explain what is welcome and what is not, so everyone can feel safe here.
What we expect
- Be respectful. Treat others with courtesy. Disagree without personal attacks.
- Be honest. Use your real identity. Do not impersonate others or create fake profiles.
- Respect privacy. Only add information about family members you are entitled to add, and share it at an appropriate visibility. Do not post others’ personal details without consent.
- Keep it lawful and appropriate for a community that includes families and elders.
What is not allowed
- Harassment, bullying, or hate — including attacks based on gender, caste, religion, sect, disability, or origin.
- Sexual, obscene, or violent content, and anything that endangers or exploits a child.
- Misinformation — knowingly false or misleading content, scams, or fraud.
- Spam — bulk unsolicited messages, repetitive posting, or manipulative promotion.
- Impersonation of people, Sanghs, or organisations.
- Privacy violations — doxxing, sharing others’ contact details or images without consent.
- Illegal content or activity, infringement of others’ intellectual property, or anything prohibited by our Terms.
Reporting
If you see content or behaviour that breaks these Guidelines, report it using the report option available on posts, comments, and other content. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team. You can also contact our Grievance Officer for serious concerns.
Enforcement
Depending on severity and history, we may:
- remove or hide the content;
- issue a warning;
- limit certain features;
- suspend or terminate the account.
We act on court and authorised government orders within the timelines the law requires. Where we act against your content or account, we aim to tell you the reason and give you a way to appeal, except where the law requires otherwise.
